Description

The BTR-60 is the first in a family of Soviet eight-wheeled APCs (armored personnel carriers).

Unlike other APCs, it has the crew compartment in the front, the troop compartment in the middle and the engine at the back.

A manned BPU-1 turret is mounted on the top of the vehicle, with a 14.5 KPVT heavy machine gun. In addition it features a secondary 7.62 PKT machine gun.

Thousands of BTR-60 have been produced and exported to a lot of countries. Some of them are still in service as today.
